H&M Group has announced its participation in the LEAF Coalition for up to 12 million tons of high-quality carbon credits, a significant collaboration aimed at reducing deforestation and promoting sustainable land use in Brazil. H&M Group, along with other buyers and the governments of Norway, the UK, and the US, has committed to purchasing these credits.

This initiative, which aligns with global climate goals, seeks to mobilize funding to protect vital rainforest areas, particularly in the Amazon.

The partnership will enable H&M Group to support projects focused on preserving biodiversity and fostering sustainable economic practices in the region. By investing in this coalition, H&M Group aims to contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions and promote environmental sustainability.

With Brazil being home to a substantial portion of the world’s rainforest, this collaboration underscores the importance of collective action in combating climate change and protecting essential ecosystems. The LEAF Coalition brings together governments, private sector leaders, and environmental organizations to drive impactful change and ensure a greener future.
