On March 11, 2025, Karl Mayer successfully defended its trademarks for Prowarp, Karl Mayer Prosize, and Prodye in a significant legal victory in Turkey. The company, known for its high-quality textile machinery, registered these trademarks between 2012 and 2018.

The dispute arose when competitors Proteknik Tekstil San. ve Dıs Tic. A S and Prosmh Makina Pazarlama Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Sirketi attempted to exploit these established names, prompting Karl Mayer to take legal action.

Despite an initial cease-and-desist communication, infringement persisted, leading to a decision by a Turkish regional court on December 12, 2024, that favored Karl Mayer. The ruling prohibits unauthorized use of these trademarks in manufacturing, sales, packaging, and online activities.

“We have invested significantly and pursued this case for nearly seven years to protect our technology, customers, and reputation,” stated Martin Fuhr, Head of Product Portfolio Management for Warp Preparation.

Karl Mayer remains committed to innovation, further solidifying its leadership in warp preparation technology. Recent enhancements in Prosize include the Cascade system, which reduces steam consumption by 7%, and the Smart Size Box, which improves predictive maintenance while decreasing size add-on by 10%.

The Prowarp system features cloud-based Proactive Warping for enhanced warp quality, while Prodye employs specialized vat technology to achieve deeper indigo shades with reduced chemical usage.

By protecting its intellectual property and driving technological advancements, Karl Mayer strengthens its market position and commitment to advancing the textile industry.
