    Retail sales in Poland, measured at constant prices, saw a year-on-year (YoY) increase of 4.8% in January, compared to a 3.2% YoY rise in the same month last year. However, on a month-on-month (MoM) basis, retail sales dropped by 17.3% during the month.

    Sales of textiles, clothing, and footwear at constant prices experienced notable growth, rising by 8.8% YoY in January.

    Online retail sales at current prices also performed well, recording a 9.4% YoY increase. The share of online sales in total retail sales rose to 9.1% in January, up from 8.8% in the same month last year, according to a report by Statistics Poland.

    For textiles, clothing, and footwear, the share of online sales in total sales for these categories climbed to 29%, compared to 27.2% in January of the previous year. The rise highlights the growing importance of e-commerce within the retail landscape. Among the key sectors analyzed, businesses with significant internet sales also reported an increase in their share of online transactions.
