For the week ending March 13, 2025, net sales of Upland cotton in the United States for the 2024–25 season reached 101,100 running bales (RB), each weighing 226.8 kg (500 pounds). This figure marks a significant decline of 63% from the previous week and a 59% decrease compared to the four-week average.

According to the USDA’s weekly export sales report, the increases during the week were primarily driven by demand from Vietnam, which purchased 73,100 RB (including 35,600 RB switched from China), along with 600 RB from South Korea, and 100 RB from Japan. There were reductions in sales of 10,300 RB as well. Other notable sales included Pakistan with 18,300 RB (including a decrease of 700 RB), Turkiye with 18,000 RB (including a decrease of 4,500 RB), Mexico with 10,600 RB, and Indonesia with 4,900 RB (including a decrease of 400 RB). These gains were countered by reductions for China (49,300 RB) and Japan (200 RB).

For the week, net sales of 57,900 RB for the 2025–26 season were primarily allocated to Guatemala (19,200 RB), Bangladesh (9,900 RB), Turkiye (8,900 RB), Mexico (6,600 RB), and Honduras (5,900 RB). Total exports reached 351,000 RB, a decrease of 13% from the previous week but an increase of 8% compared to the four-week average. The leading destinations included Vietnam (84,900 RB), Pakistan (80,500 RB), Turkiye (50,000 RB), India (24,600 RB), and Indonesia (16,800 RB).

In addition, net sales of Pima cotton reached a marketing year high of 26,500 RB for the 2024–25 season, significantly higher than the previous week and up 93% from the prior four-week average. Key increases were noted for India (14,200 RB), Peru (4,800 RB), Pakistan (2,600 RB), Ethiopia (2,600 RB), and Vietnam (1,200 RB, including 100 RB switched from Japan), which were partially offset by reductions for Hong Kong (900 RB) and Japan (100 RB). Exports of 16,700 RB—also a marketing year high—showed substantial increases from both the previous week and the prior four-week average. The main destinations for these exports were China (9,600 RB), India (3,200 RB), Vietnam (2,300 RB), Indonesia (400 RB), and Thailand (400 RB).
