Ekoten Tekstil, a leading player in the textile manufacturing industry and part of Sun Tekstil, is leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to revolutionize its production processes. By incorporating AI-driven defect detection, the company ensures exceptional fabric quality while reducing waste, reaffirming its dedication to sustainable and responsible manufacturing. This cutting-edge technology enables real-time monitoring, improving precision and significantly reducing the environmental impact of textile production.

“Our AI-powered systems allow us to identify and correct textile defects before they lead to unnecessary reprocessing, minimizing waste and optimizing resource use,” said Sabri Ünlütürk, Vice Chairman of the Board at Sun Tekstil and Ekoten Tekstil. “This innovation enhances both the efficiency and sustainability of our manufacturing practices.”

Tackling Water Consumption with AI-Driven Solutions

The textile industry is among the biggest consumers of water, with processes like dyeing and finishing accounting for nearly 20% of global industrial water pollution. Ekoten Tekstil’s AI systems address this issue by detecting defects early in the production process, thereby reducing the need for re-dyeing and reprocessing. This minimized rework leads to a significant decrease in water consumption.

As climate change exacerbates global water shortages, sustainable practices are becoming increasingly critical. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), droughts affect 55 million people annually, underscoring the urgency of water conservation. Ekoten Tekstil’s AI-led innovations not only improve production efficiency but also contribute to global sustainability efforts by conserving precious resources and reducing the industry’s ecological footprint.

    A Sustainability and Inclusivity Trailblazer

Ekoten Tekstil’s commitment to sustainability goes beyond environmental measures. The company boasts an A rating from the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Climate Change assessment, surpassing the global textile industry average of B and the worldwide average of C. Furthermore, it has maintained an A/Leadership rating in the CDP Supplier Engagement Ranking for three consecutive years, solidifying its position as a global leader in sustainable supply chains.

Beyond environmental initiatives, Ekoten Tekstil champions workforce diversity and inclusion. Women hold key leadership and production roles within the company, making inclusivity a core element of its ethical business practices.

“Innovation goes beyond technological advancements—it’s about cultivating an inclusive, forward-thinking workplace,” Ünlütürk emphasized. “At Ekoten Tekstil, we believe that true, sustainable success stems from both operational innovation and empowering a diverse workforce.”

Shaping a Greener Future for the Textile Industry

With its ongoing investments in AI technology, environmental sustainability, and workforce diversity, Ekoten Tekstil is setting a benchmark for responsible textile manufacturing. Its forward-looking vision combines operational excellence with ethical practices, paving the way for a greener and more inclusive future in the textile industry.
