The Jeanologia NextGen Summit recently took place at the company’s headquarters in Valencia, along with key textile hubs across Spain. This event aimed to inspire and equip the next generation of denim industry leaders, particularly from family-owned businesses, with the necessary tools to tackle upcoming challenges through sustainable, technological, and collaborative approaches.
The summit featured a diverse program designed to enhance learning and engagement among participants. It included motivational talks by industry veterans who shared their insights and visions, especially regarding the transition of leadership to younger generations. There were also hands-on workshops focused on innovative solutions to pressing industry issues, alongside open debates that encouraged dialogue across the sector.
One of the standout moments of the event was the forward-thinking vision presented by Bart Sights, the innovation head at Levi’s. Participants also had the opportunity to visit the headquarters of Spanish fashion brand Mango, where Andrés Fernández, the head of sustainability and sourcing, discussed Mango’s sustainability goals, igniting meaningful discussions among attendees.
The summit successfully fostered collaboration, allowing young leaders to network and work together towards a more accountable and efficient industry model. The community formed during the event aims to maintain connections and share ideas beyond the summit, aligning with Jeanologia’s vision for a collaborative textile ecosystem.
Pepa Silla, representing the young leadership steering Jeanologia toward a more innovative and sustainable future, stated, “The NextGen Summit marks the beginning of a global movement. We have established a community where the next generation can openly discuss challenges and solutions, inspiring one another to accelerate change in a responsible, disruptive, and collaborative manner. It is now our responsibility to transform the industry with a fresh mindset, new working methods, and a commitment to a better future.”
Founded in 1994, Jeanologia has been dedicated to transforming the textile industry through sustainable, ethical, and efficient solutions, employing technologies such as laser innovation, G2 ozone, Dancing Box, e-flow, H2Zero, and ColorBox.
Looking ahead, the company remains committed to an eco-efficient, chemical-free textile future, urging industry stakeholders to join its Mission Zero initiative aimed at eliminating water usage and toxic chemicals from garment finishing on a global scale.
In September of the previous year, Jeanologia partnered with the Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel (HKRITA) and the H&M Foundation to lead a project focused on creating a dynamic hub for the entire textile value chain, driving innovations to address climate change challenges.
