The UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT) has launched a new Reuse and Recycling membership tailored for professionals involved in textile collection, sorting, grading, mechanical recycling, upcycling, and innovative recycling strategies.
This membership category aims to support businesses in the textile reuse and recycling sector by offering specialized resources, strategic guidance, and advocacy to promote circular fashion initiatives.
UKFT CEO Adam Mansell remarked, “By expanding our membership to include the Reuse and Recycling sector, we are reaffirming our commitment to environmental responsibility and the growth of the entire UK fashion and textile supply chain. This new membership is designed to provide members with the tools, knowledge, and networks essential for success in a rapidly evolving industry.”

“By joining the Reuse and Recycling membership, businesses can remain competitive, connected, and lead in textile sustainability,” Mansell added. “This new initiative serves as a catalyst for positive change, enabling our members to foster innovation and environmental responsibility in the fashion and textile sector.”
The UKFT has partnered with ACT UK and CFIN to enhance circularity within the UK fashion and textile industry and has established stakeholder networks dedicated to material reuse innovation. Recently, the association collaborated with the Textiles Recycling Expo to strengthen cooperation among industry stakeholders, policymakers, and sustainability advocates.
