Greensboro, North Carolina-based Unifi has launched Integr8, a spandex-free stretch yarn designed to meet sustainability and performance needs in the market.
This continuous filament yarn is made with Repreve post-consumer recycled plastic and integrates fully traceable FiberPrint technology. It is also backed by several certifications, including U-Trust, Oeko-Tex, GRS, and SCS, ensuring its recycled content and environmental credentials.
Integr8 combines softness with moisture management, enhancing the performance and functionality of wovens, knits, and seamless fabrics. Its versatility makes it ideal for applications in apparel, footwear, and home furnishings.
In addition to a soft hand feel and spandex-free comfort stretch, Integr8-equipped fabrics can offer benefits such as evaporative cooling, UV protection, and low-wrinkle, easy-care properties—depending on the fabric’s construction.
“Integr8 represents a breakthrough, particularly for apparel and footwear brands that have long sought the stretch of spandex without the associated environmental burden,” says Unifi CEO Eddie Ingle. “With one of the industry’s most comprehensive suites of performance-engineered technologies, Unifi is ideally positioned to meet the growing demand for sustainable, functional yarns.”
